Checkride Day Card

Aviation Conversations

The week before

  • Fly one mock with pressure: a different CFI, the same paperwork and timing as the real day.
  • Build and work your gap list: mark every ACS area green, yellow, or red, and study only yellow and red.
  • Protect your sleep the last three nights.

The night before

  • Stop studying 90 minutes before bed.
  • Lay out documents, logbook, and endorsements.
  • Write tomorrow's plan on paper.

The morning of

  • Run the 90-second reset (slow, exhale-led breathing) before you leave, before the oral, and before engine start.

In the aircraft

  • After a mistake, name it in three words, then say your next action out loud.
  • If you blank in the oral, narrate what you do know.
